The body of engineering knowledge that defines the discipline of fire safety engineering (or fire protection engineering) is relatively broad. For educational purposes this discipline can be divided into a number of fundamental courses. One of these is enclosure fire dynamics : the study of how to estimate the environmental consequences of a fire in an enclosure.
